Great trip Daniel! We are off to Salta/Cafayate now for some tourism. The whole Iberá experience was exceptional. SET have put a huge amount of thought, effort and care into every aspect of the operation. The hospitality, cuisine (in even the most rustic and basic camp) were top class. The guiding we knew from Itati would be great so no surprises there. The last two days of fishing were slow on Laguna Trim. Big moon in recent days or some other conditions who knows (Nico said no wind and bright sun never help). So we didn’t get anything bigger than the 69cm(6kg?) but we had 4 close to that size. We saw a few bigger fish crash about in the middle of the lagoons or wide channels but didn’t encounter them on the fly. But I wouldn’t complain at all about the fishing. We had some excellent days and a lot of fun. And my wife really enjoyed it all and it would be something we would happily do again at some point. Luckily we managed to take the charter flight back from Concepcion as the campo (airstrip) was dry enough. The extra cost of the charter via Bella Vista doesn’t seem worth it as you may as well drive from Corrientes and take commercial. Two groups of Americans did that and saved money. With only Diane and I on board the charter I doubt it was worthwhile for SET either.
Fly Fishing Caribe strongly recommends that you enroll with Global Rescue prior to embarking on your trip.
