On board the AVALON FLEET I, in Isle of the Youth, the total hook ups during the first 2 weeks of June were the following: 810 tarpon hooked from which 322 were landed weighted between 10 to 80 lbs. That means an average of 70 tarpon per skiff, besides the other species landed such us bonefish, mouton snapper and cuda. With new moon and also crescent moon, optimum weather conditions, these 2 weeks were particularly exceptional! Most were migratory tarpon approaching the flats tempted by the sardine shoals and others related to the Sargasso accumulated in the shores, giving the opportunity to sight fishing in shallow waters.
The service on board, the excellent food and the good willing of the guides made this 2 week experience unforgettable, assuring “Isle of the Youth” as the best tarpon fishing spot of the Caribbean.
