Hi Daniel, back home safe from Cayo Cruz. Contrary to fears, Marina hotel was fine. Good pool and rooms and nice ambience/amable staff. Food wasn’t as good as JDLR last year but was OK. Indeed better than expected. And Avalon seemed to have sorted boats out; only heard of one boat problem the week before. As for fishing, very strong winds for 4 days (around 45kph days 1-3 and then around 30kph. This and tide effects made fishing hard; bonefishing and wading kept my wife happy in back lagoons. Antonio was very professional and worked hard for me. But tarpon and permit opportunities few and far between until things came together on the last day.
Fly Fishing Caribe strongly recommends that you enroll with Global Rescue prior to embarking on your trip.
