Nine years ago, I went fishing in Mexico at Grand Slam Fishing Lodge (now Sian Ka'an Fishing Lodge), where we had a bountiful catch, mainly targeting bonefish so my daughter Antonia could learn fly fishing. The fishing was plentiful and enjoyable, and we did a lot of wading.

After that great experience, I returned this year (2026 season) and was pleasantly surprised: very nice, modern, and comfortable rooms. We had an excellent week of fishing, especially varied: tarpon, bonefish, and we saw and caught quite a few good-sized permit.

I landed an exceptional one of approximately 20 pounds. The guides were very professional and attentive, and had exceptional eyesight. Without a doubt, an experience I will repeat very soon!
